Point to the dish on the menu and then make a splitting motion with your hands.
Be prepared for the possibility that it might not be possible, especially at very busy or high-end establishments. A simple "すみません、できません" (Sumimasen, dekimasen - "Sorry, we can't") is also a possible reply.
