Gesture & etiquette

Stay by the senior's side with one hand lightly near (not gripping) their elbow or shoulder as they sit. Once seated, crouch to eye level. Speak in a calm, unhurried voice regardless of your own concern level.

Dizziness in seniors can escalate quickly. Guide the senior to a seat immediately before assessing further. 'Yukkuri shinkokyuu' (slow deep breaths) both calms the nervous system and gives you a moment to observe if the cause is positional, heat-related, or something more serious.
