Gesture & etiquette
This is an email phrase. Send this acknowledgment within the same business day, ideally within a few hours. Include a specific timeframe for your full response if possible: '○日までにご連絡いたします' (I will contact you by [date]).
拝受' (haijū) is the formal humble verb for 'to receive' — a step above 'itadakimashita.' In Japanese business email culture, acknowledging receipt immediately is expected, even if you cannot fully respond yet. This prevents the sender from wondering if the email arrived.
