Gesture & etiquette
Email or paper document (especially for hanko-based ringi system). Attach all relevant materials clearly labeled. Subject line typically: 「【決裁依頼】◯◯の件」. After approval received, send brief thank-you message.
Kessai' (decision/approval) is the formal term for management sign-off on a ringi (formal proposal). 'Tamawaritaku' (would humbly receive) is an N1-level verb meaning to be granted something from above. 'Onegai moushi agemasu' is the most polite request closing. Use only for formal approval requests to management — overuse in casual emails sounds stilted.
