Email-only typically. Subject line: 'Re: 【リマインド】◯◯について'. Reference original email by date or subject. Avoid emotional language even if frustrated. Always include offer to assist ('osakini sumimasen ga, fumei ten ga arimashitara osshatte kudasai' = sorry to push, please ask if anything is unclear).
Following up on unanswered messages requires extreme softening to avoid sounding pushy. 'Sono go ikaga deshou ka' (how is it going since then?) is gentler than 'mada kakunin sarete imasen ka?' (haven't you checked yet?). 'Gotabou no naka' (in your busy schedule) explicitly recognizes their workload. Send first reminder after 3-5 business days; second reminder only after another week.
