Gesture & etiquette
Chat/email context. Pick up delay certificate (遅延証明書) at the station before boarding the next train. Send to HR upon arrival if required.
Late-arrival notification via chat or email. Send AS SOON AS you know — train apps update before delays become obvious. Get a 遅延証明書 (delay certificate) from the station — Japanese workplaces accept this as proof and many require it for HR records. Provide best-guess arrival time, not exact. Update if guess changes.
