Email/chat status update. If in person before leaving, brief slight bow (15°), mention backup contact. Have your travel itinerary visible if asked.
Set OOO (out-of-office) auto-reply with: trip dates, contact for non-urgent (a backup colleague), method for urgent (your mobile/email). Set internal team-chat status. Even on trips, check email morning and evening for true emergencies. Designate a 'backup' colleague clearly so the team knows who to ask while you're away.
