Crouch to eye level immediately; place a gentle, reassuring hand on their shoulder (if not near the injury site); dial while staying close; continue speaking calmly to them while on hold — your physical and verbal presence is the most stabilizing thing you can offer.
Two things are critical: announcing your action ('救急車を呼びます') prevents the senior from panicking at perceived abandonment, and instructing them not to move ('動かないで') is standard first-response practice for falls or suspected spinal injury. Maintain voice contact while dialing so they know you haven't left.
