Gesture & etiquette
Crouch at eye level with a calm expression — never show panic even if chest pain is mentioned. Offer your hand for them to guide, or hold a body diagram nearby. If they are unable to communicate clearly, gently observe their behavior for signs of the affected area.
Accurate pain location is critical for care escalation. If verbal communication is difficult, use a simple body diagram. Chest pain, difficulty breathing, or one-sided weakness should trigger immediate emergency protocols regardless of reported severity. Follow up with: 「1から10で、どのくらい痛いですか?」(On a scale of 1 to 10, how strong is the pain?)
